Bentley and Maggie...It's Official!! ;)

After Bentley got back from camp, he was talking even more about Maggie. Bentley told me that a few weeks back Maggie had asked him to be her boyfriend and he 'panicked and didn't know what to say'. So he decided he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend and hope she didn't panic. lol After church on July 21, Maggie asked Bentley to go to the pool with her and her family. Russell ended up going too. Bentley said he backed out of asking her while at the pool. So after church that night he sent Carson, Maggie's sister, to ask her!! haha Maggie said 'yes' and now they are "dating". Oh, young love!! They have been texting and sitting together at church. We definitely will NOT being moving too fast though!!! My sweet boy is growing up :(

Wedding Bells are Ringing

Melissa Campbell, Bentley's old Tae Kwon Do instructor, was married on July 21. We were more than happy to go and support her. She is a precious person! It was chaos for us though! Brody talked all during the ceremony, then bumped his head and cried as I was taking him out!! It was a beautiful wedding anyway and a great reception! Congrats Melissa Campbell Head!!

Bentley's New Room!!

While Bentley was away at camp, Mom and I (and Brody) gave Bentley's room a makeover. He is 9 now and wanted a big boy room. It was very sad for me but I knew he needed and deserved an updated room. No longer a pretty blue, now a manly gray. No 'baby' furniture as he called it, a nice big bed with 2 dressers which we painted black. It looks great!! But definitely looks like a teenagers room! He was so proud of it when he saw it!!

ICYC

On July 15, Russell and Bentley loaded up and headed to ICYC for a week of fun and growing closer to Christ. Bentley has been going to camp for about 3 years now and LOVES it! I go up at least once during the week to visit, usually on skit night. This year the skits were great as usual!! The girls in Sagebrush put on big heads of the counselors and danced around. It was too cute! Brody wanted to stay at camp. This years theme was 'Summer Lovin'.

KFC Movie

On July 10, the boys and went to see Puss in Boots with the KFC group. Cute movie and a great turn out!

Brody at 20 Months

On July 8, Brody turned 20 months! So close to turning 2 years old :( Our morning started out with Brody waking me up with a kiss on the cheek and saying in his sweetest voice Momma. Precious! Brody has been such a joy and delight in his 20 months!! Here are some things happening at 20 months:

• He is in size 4 diapers
• 24 month clothes
• still a picky eater 
• loves the vacuum cleaner
• great at cleaning up after himself
• when he goes #1 or #2 in his diaper he will run to his room, grab a diaper and/or wipes and bring them to me and lay down to be changed!!
• when he goes #2 he waves his hand over his nose and says,"shoo-wee"
• still does great with blessing food and puts his hands together to pray
• can say and point to every body part

Manners:

• Coming along in this area. He will say 'thank you' sometimes when he is given something he wants.
• He will say 'please' if he really wants something.
• He is actually doing pretty well with 'yes maam and sir/no maam and sir'. Has to be prompted sometimes.
• Brody loves to gives high fives instead of hand shaking ;)
• A master at blowing kisses!!

Vocabulary:

Lah Ew!

On July 5, I wrote it down because it was a HUGE deal, Brody finally said love you to me!!!! It actually sounded like "Lah Ew" but I knew what he was saying and it was music to my ears!!!! I love that boy to the moon and back and a million trillion times more!
