Brody's Boo-Boo

While we were doing the Easter pictures of Brody at Capitol Park, he fell on the gravel and got a small scratch on his right leg. He fussed a little then got up and ran to play some more. That was on a Tuesday. He woke up on Wednesday morning with a VERY swollen leg and a bruise along with the scratch. He wasn't fussing or limping but he looked AWFUL! I called the doctor and they wanted to see him immediately. They sent him for x-rays and looked his leg over and couldn't figure it out. One doctor thought it could just be his eczema acting up and that any scratch or boo-boo will look and react differently than any other child without eczema. Another doctor thought something was seriously wrong. After getting results from x-ray, being on antibiotics and Zrytec, and a re-check on Thursday, they came to the conclusion that is was an infected bruise!!! I have never heard of that! He is on day 4 of antibiotics and looks great. But very scary that a small scratch and bruise turned into that. Here is a pic but it does no justice to what it looked like in person.
