Bentley has been reading his Bible and practicing at church the books of James and 1 and 2 Peter. Bentley participated in Bible Bowl, Good Samaritan, Year Round Bible Reading, Oral Bible Reading, Know the Books and Art Says It. We left for Nashville, Tennessee on April 5th for the convention. Friday started the first of the competitions. Cottondale Church of Christ has an excellent group of kids and we placed in most categories. Bentley did awesome during all of his competitions. It was a very uplifting weekend and I so enjoyed hanging out with and getting to know my church family better. I also got to judge the K-2 Leaderettes Songs of Praise group. They were precious! Bentley's birthday also fell on Saturday of our trip so the group all serenaded Bent and he was so embarrassed but I was so impressed and thought it was awesome! We went to the Opry Mills Mall and let Bentley pick out his birthday gift and he picked a Batman Lego set. It was pretty cool. He also got to pick out where he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner. He chose The Aquarium. It felt like we were dining under the sea. It was pretty awesome!! Of course, it was a seafood place but Bentley ate a cheeseburger ;) I ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp in a wrap and tortilla soup. It was delicious!!!!
During our down times of no competition we were all touristy and stuff ;) We went to the Antique Archaeology store. There is a show called American Pickers ,which Bentley and Russell love! They opened and own that store. It was so neat. We saw some items that were picked on the show and were being sold in that store. Bentley also wanted to go to Cooter's, which is all about Dukes of Hazzard. He got to get pictures in all of the cars from the show. He was very excited about that. On Sunday morning, we went to worship at the hotel and then we packed up and checked out. I was so ready to see my little man, who stayed with mom Thursday-Saturday, then Karen Saturday night until Sunday when we got home. He was so excited to see us and us him. Love my boys!!! It was an awesome weekend and I cannot wait until next year!!
